DATE: OCTOBER 18TH (SAT) - OCTOBER 25TH (SAT)
OPENING RECEPTION: OCTOBER 18TH (SAT) 3-7pm
TITLE: "We = the Earth"
Location: Artistz Lounge
196 n.belle mead rd
East Setauket, NY

Today, we hear the phrase "save the planet" often.
I believe the Earth is not something that is separate from us that we save. Instead, we as human race and our surrounding nature of this planet are one in the same. The planet is in danger means "we" are in danger.
We affect the environment as the environment directly affect our lives. It is a symbiotic relationship we have with this planet.
Saving this planet's future = not only saving our own future but also the future of coming generations.
"We = the Earth"

Long Island Climate Action Network, a program offered by Renewable Energy Long Island, is a grassroots campaign to reduce the threat of global warming through individual and community-wide action. LI-CAN offers speakers, speaker training, and leaders for Local Action Networks. Local Action Networks (LANs) consist of individuals who want to lower their impact on climate change by reducing their carbon footprint (by using David Gershon's book "Low CARBon Diet") and spreading the word to others. Participants in LANs also work together on a larger project to help their offices, schools, or communities make improvements to lower carbon emissions. LI-CAN promotes the perspective that global warming is a big problem, but that each individual has the ability to make a difference by taking action in their own home and uniting together with others to take on larger, community-wide problems.
