In Unison, students came together and mapped out each and every detail of the collaborative works on display. Each mural began with a theme and evolved into a journey: A journey of sharing space, sharing ideas and sharing joy.
Michelle Posner-Stylianou, art educator with NYIT's Vocational Independence program, chose the theme of murals for her students beacuse of the challenges involved. Students had to learn how to work together and leave their ego's behind. The "journey" was the learning involved when faced with the challenges of working with a group.
